Committee of Finance of Parliament to meet with the Minister of Finance regarding the Ministry’s position on cryptocurrency

SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - The Committee of Finance (CF) of Parliament is scheduled to meet on June 29, 2022.

The Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at for 14.00 hrs. in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelminastraat #1 in Philipsburg. The Minister of Finance will be present.    

The agenda point is:

Presentation by and discussion with the Ministry of Finance, regarding the Ministry's position on the use of cryptocurrency as legal tender on St. Maarten, as well as any planning and execution efforts by the Ministry on the legal use of cryptocurrency by Government and the private sector, including the required steps by Government for Country St. Maarten to realize fiscal gains through cryptocurrency (IS/929/2021-2022 dated May 23, 2022)
