Tonight, through Monday evening: Light to gentle northeasterly to easterly winds with speeds ranging from 5 to 12 mph. Winds may weaken, becoming variable at times.  

SYNOPSIS:    

Weak instability affects the region. Low atmospheric moisture content limits precipitation. 

Long period north to northeasterly swells will persist for the next several days. Small craft operators and sea bathers are reminded to exercise caution. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to moderate        WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURE:    

At 5:00 p.m. Tropical Storm (TS) Nigel was located approximately 1001 miles northeast of St. Maarten. This system is strengthening rapidly and predicted to become a hurricane by tomorrow (Monday). However, TS Nigel DOES NOT pose a direct threat to St. Maarten. The Meteorological Department St. Maarten will issue no further updates on TS Nigel. 

48HR OUTLOOK through Tuesday evening: Fair to partly cloudy. Brief isolated showers are likely.
