SINT MAARTEN (DUTCH QUARTER) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is actively investigating two recent shooting incidents in Dutch Quarter that have resulted in one fatality and one serious injury. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are requesting assistance from the public to gather information and help bring those responsible to justice.
October 27, 2024 - Central Dispatch received a call at approximately 1:00 a.m. regarding a shooting on Madrid Road in Dutch Quarter. Officers arrived to find that a male victim had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Despite immediate efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The vehicle belonging to the victim has been confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation.
October 28, 2024 - Early Monday morning, around 3:30 a.m., Central Dispatch received calls about a second shooting incident in the Garden of Eden area of Dutch Quarter. Responding officers discovered a male victim who had been shot in the lower body. The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment of his injuries.
Forensic specialists and detectives are thoroughly examining both scenes and gathering evidence. Police have credible information that individuals in the Dutch Quarter area may have witnessed these events.

ARCHIVED - SINT MAARTEN (DUTCH QUARTER) – A second shooting has taken place in the early morning hours of Monday morning, October 28, a little over 24-hours after police reported a shooting where one person died.
On Monday morning the Police Central Dispatch received a call around 3:30 AM that a male person was shot in the lower part of his body.
The shooting took place in the Garden of Eden.
The persons were taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center in critical condition.
Detectives and Forensic teams were sent to the Garden of Eden to investigate.
