Central Committee to meet at a later time on Thursday to discuss Execution Reports of Ministry General Affairs

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Central Committee of the House of Parliament will meet at 3.00pm instead of 2.00pm on Thursday afternoon.

The Central Committee will take place in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

The agenda is a discussion on the 12th, 13th and 14th Execution Reports from the Ministry of General Affairs.

Parliamentary Committee TEATT Meeting on Wednesday Postponed

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The parliamentary committee meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday morning regarding Casino Controllers was postponed.

 

The permanent committee session was set for Wednesday at 10.00am in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

The permanent Committee of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) were to have a discussion with casino controllers concerning the filling of supervisory positions and day shift compensation.

 

The meeting was postponed until a new date has been set.

POLICE BLOTTER: Youngster seriously injured during Jouvert Morning

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten - The lady with initials K.A. (40) filed a report with the Detective Department on April 29th stating that on Saturday April 26th during the end of the Jouvert Morning, her son with initials R.D.O.A. was attacked and beaten by a group of boys in front of the Festival Village. One of the attackers used a brass knuckle to strike the victim in his head. As a result of this beating the victim suffered severe bleeding under his skull and had to be admitted to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The victim had to be flown abroad on Monday April 28th because of his deteriorating medical condition. The Detective Department is investigating this case and is asking anyone who may have any information concerning this case to contact the Police Department.

POLICE BLOTTER: License plates reported stolen.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten - The Detective department between April 29th and May 2nd 2014 has received more than a dozen reports of stolen 2014 license plates which were taken from the rear of the vehicles. The most of these license plates were stolen in the Philipsburg and Cay Hill area during the Carnival festivities. An investigation is ongoing to locate the culprits responsible for this act.

WANTED: Detective and police search for suspect

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten - In connection with the ongoing rise in home break-ins and businesses on the island during the Carnival season and the attempted manslaughter of a police officer, the police department is requesting the assistance of the public to help locate one of the suspects by the name of Ricardo Daniel GUMAN-GONZALES from Mexico.
